An investigation into an incident last month led to the arrest of North Salem resident Edwin Martinez Ventura, 36, this week, who now faces charges that include second-degree menacing and criminal possession of a weapon, both misdemeanors.

New York State Police troopers were dispatched to a Route 22 property in North Salem at approximately 2 a.m. on March 4, where there was a report of a menacing incident involving a knife-wielding man. Further investigation determined that Ventura allegedly menaced two victims who lived in the same building with a knife, threatening them.

Following arraignment, Ventura was remanded to the Westchester County Jail in lieu of $5,000 cash bail or $10,000 bond. He is scheduled to appear in the Town of North Salem Court later this month to answer the charges.
